Economic Impact

Worlds of Fun Amusement Park makes and also spends a lot of money, therefore it helps our economy. it brings in money from several different things. They bring in money from the price of the admission for everyone to get into the park in the first place, then there is also the cost that people pay to lodge at the Worlds of Fun Village. People then pay for things once they get into the park itself. These things include price of food, games, the shows, souviners, parking. There are the extra fees that people pay to ride the rides and also buy random things that they end up needing throughout their day. Then the park itself has to pay costs to keep the park running, including utilities and the employees themselfs.

Oceans of Fun

Oceans of Fun is the water park that is a part of Worlds of Fun, although it is a seperate park and costs extra to go to after Worlds of Fun. Oceans of fun was added onto Worlds of Fun a few years after it had originally opened. Oceans of Fun has several slides and pools. These include, Aruba Tuba, Buccaneer Bay, Captain Kidd's, Caribbean Cooler, Castaway Cove (an adult pool), Coconut Cove, Crocodile Isle, Diamond Head, Hurricane Falls, Monsoon, Paradise Falls, Surf City Wave Pool, and Typhooon. There are also several shops and food centers here.

Rides That Cost Extra

There are three attractions at worlds of fun that cost extra to ride or participate in. There are three attractions that this applies to. Those being The Grand Prix, The Rock, and also The RipCord. The RipCord is an attraction that allows you to do a 180 feet free fall. The flyers will accelerate to a speed of 60-80 miles per hour. This attraction varies in prices depending on how many flyers will be participating. For three flyers, it would cost $16.95 per person. For two flyers, it would cost $22.95 per person. For one flyer, it would cost $27.95 per person. The Grand Prix is just a raceway where you are allowed to drive your own go-kart around a track. One ride per person costs $5.00. Two consecutive rides for the same person costs $8.00. The rock is just a rock climbing attraction that costs $5.00 for two climbs.

Additional Fees

While visiting Worlds of Fun, you may come to realize that there are several things that you may not have been expecting to pay for here. Those things may include things like transportation. Different means of transportion may include a stroller, wheelchair, or even an electric scooter. They have two types of strollers, a single seat and a double seat. Other items that you may need to purchase, such as aspirin or other similar medications, film, a disposable camera, sunscreen, or ponchos. Those prices could add up quick.

Jobs

There are several job benefits that you get when you work at Worlds of Fun. You can get college internships so you can earn a credit while working. It is a fun job to have and you get free admission into the park. Offers voluntary insurance benefits for health and dental to those who are seasonal staff. The people who are employed have "fun raisers", which are fund raisers that the park does to make money. Some of the diferent jobs provided by the park range from full time mechanics, who take care of all the ride upkeep, you could be in costume as your job, or work at souvenir shops, food centers, rides or even games. The pay on average is $7.25. The number of jobs provided by worlds of fun is around 2,600.

Souvenirs and Games

There are several different shops at worlds of fun that you can purchase souvenirs from. Some examples of the shops would be For Girls Only, Hot Shots, Plaza Gifts, The Lift, Mamba Photo, Moroccan Merchant, Wood and Leather Shop, Deja Vu, Charlie's Caps, etc. Souvenirs bring in a lot of money because people will by several items per trip and the items can get somewhat pricy. There are also several games at worlds of fun. The average cost on the games is two-three dollars, some games are a little more/less.

Food

The cost of food at worlds of fun can get to be pretty expensive. On average, it would cost an adult 10 or more dollars per meal. It would cost a child approximately six to seven dollars per meal. There are also several places outside of the park you could go to eat, along with picnic table set up throughout the parking lot, for people to eat at. There are about 27 different places to eat throughout the park that you can choose to eat at. Those include both sit down and walk up restaurants. Some examples of food places would be All Stars Grill, Subway, Bocini Brothers, Cinnabon, ICEE Mix It Up, King Tut's, and Grandma's Funnel Cakes.

Parking

Parking is not really a main concern at Worlds of Fun. If you go to Worlds of Fun, then you will have to pay a ten dollar fee. If you have a large vehicle that will take up multiple spots than you are reuired to pay a 15 dollar fee. You could also choose to get a season pass for parking, than it would cost you $35.00. Some season passes for the amusement parks also include the season pass for parking, such as the Gold and Platinum season passes.




 

Lodging

At Worlds of Fun, there is actually a hotel that is specifically for worlds of fun. The name of it is, Worlds of Fun Village. There is also an RV Park at the Worlds of Fun Village that is a lot cheaper for people to stay while visiting Worlds of Fun. There are several hotels located near worlds of fun that many people will choose to stay at because the price difference is rather large and hotels have better room service than the worlds of fun village does. The prices of lodging at the village, or just at a regular hotel will vary depending on the season. The villages here are like little cottages that are for rent, so it is not really anything like an actual hotel.

Admission

The cost of admission at worlds of fun will vary depending on several things. This cost of admission changes  because of when you want to go, how long you want to go, or the time of day that you are going. There are several different tickets you can purchase. There are also season passes available. The different tickets include Single Day(have regular and junior/senior tickets); Pay Once, Visit Twice(also have regular and junior/senior tickets); Twilight (sunday-friday); Twilight (saturday); and then season passes. Regular tickets are for guests that are 48 inches or taller. Junior/senior tickets are for guests who are under 48 inches or are over the age of 63.
